Tom
W. Cornwall
was born and raised in Spencer, Iowa. His
father, Wilson Cornwall, was one of the original partners
of the firm. Tom attended Dartmouth College and
University of Iowa Law School where he graduated in 1953.
He is a member of the Clay County and Iowa State Bar
Associations. Tom is now semi-retired. His
area of practice is estate planning law, probate law and
real estate law. |

 Christopher
A. Bjornstad
was born and raised in Spencer, Iowa.
Chris graduated from the University of Iowa in 1970 as a
member of Phi Beta Kappa and from the Iowa Law School in
1974. After graduation, Chris joined the current
firm of Cornwall, Avery, Bjornstad & Scott. His area
of practice includes real estate law, probate law,
taxation law and corporation law. Chris is the
former chairman of the Iowa State Board of Tax Review and
a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate
Counsel.

 Stephen
F.
Avery
was born and raised in Spencer, Iowa.
Steve attended the University of Iowa and graduated from
law school in 1966. Steve was the Clay County
Attorney in 1971-1972. He is a member of the Clay
County Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association
(President, Young Lawyers Section 1974-1975), Colorado Bar
Association, American Bar Association (Member, Executive
Council, Young Lawyers Section 1974-1975), and Iowa
Academy of Trial Lawyers. His areas of practice
include medical malpractice, personal injury, employment
issues, product liability and similar civil litigation.
Steve's wife
is Molly and he has three sons, Fletcher, Lance and Max.
His recreational interests include sailing and skiing.

A.
Scott
is originally from the Mitchell, South Dakota area.
David attended the University of South Dakota and
graduated from the University of Iowa Law School in 1972.
He is a member of the Clay County Bar Association, Iowa
State Bar Association (Member, Committee on Insurance,
1978-1982), American Bar Association, Association of Trial
Lawyers of Iowa, Iowa Defense Counsel Association and the
Iowa Association of Workers' Compensation Lawyers, Inc.
His area of practice includes personal injury, workers
compensation law and social security disability.

 Jill M. Davis, formerly Jill McLain of Pocahontas, Iowa, joined our office in June of 2006. Jill graduated from Drake Law School in 2004. She also earned a Masters in Business Administration from Drake. Jill is licensed to practice law in the State of Iowa and before joining our firm, she completed a clerkship position with the judges of the Third Judicial District of Iowa. Jill is married and has made Spencer, Iowa her home.
