Our Attorneys

Lisa M. Steffen was raised on a farm outside of Peterson, Iowa. She graduated Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science, with Distinction in English in 1998 and earned her law degree from Suffolk University Law School, Boston, Massachusetts in 2003. Lisa is licensed to practice in Iowa and Minnesota.

Lisa’s practice areas primarily include trust and estate planning and administration, probate law, real estate, agricultural law, banking law, and business planning. Lisa is a member of the Iowa Bar Association and is on the advisory board for Farmers Savings Bank. Lisa had success in general private practice for 13 years before proudly joining Cornwall, Avery, Bjornstad & Scott as a partner in June of 2025.

Lisa and her husband, Tye, enjoy biking, boating and spending time with their daughters, Lucy and Sally.
